WS- 01- Autocorrelation in time and space: Freshwater data analysis using R
Convenors:
Prof. Dr. Franco Biondi, University of Nevada, USA
Understanding autocorrelation, either in space or in time, is at the core of aquatic sciences. The objective of this workshop is to briefly explain how autocorrelation violates statistical assumptions, and then introduce various ways, not just to account for autocorrelation, but to use it as a tool for investigating natural phenomena. Topics to be discussed will include Box-Jenkins models for time-series data, variograms and kriging for spatial data, quantitative variable selection and trend detection, and advanced models for space-time data. The topics will be illustrated with examples aimed at early career researchers.
Date: Sunday, July 20th
Time: 15:00-17:00 p.m..
WS- 02 - Academic mental health: How to manage academic stress
