How to get to Symposium Venue
The 14ᵗʰ SEFS will be held at the main campus of the Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University (BAİBÜ), 14 km west of the city center. The location is very easy to find for participants, being close to hotels, dormitories, quest house, coffee houses, bars and restaurants.
Bolu is the city where the SEFS-14 will be held. Unfortunately, we do not have an airport in Bolu. However, there will be ways for traveling directly from the airports (Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, Ankara International Esenboğa Airport) to the hotels in Bolu. In this way, we will consider providing buses in front of the airports, and you will be transported to your hotels in Bolu. We will announce this option in the second call or sooner. Whenever you come to Bolu by bus or other ways, there will be guides at the SEFS14 information desk at the Bolu Bus Station. They will help you to reach your hotels.
However, in case you would prefer to reach Bolu, we suggest taking one of the routes explained below:
If possible, please take your airplane ticket to the International Esenboğa Airport in Ankara (IATA: ESB, ICAO: LTAC) (suggested). The airport is located in the capital city (Ankara) of Türkiye. This will be either a direct flight to Ankara from your home country or a domestic flight connecting from İstanbul or other cities to Ankara. We consider that this route is a better and faster route to get to Bolu.
Our guides (students) will be waiting at the exit of the airport and will help you finding the bus and/or reach to the Ankara Bus Station (AŞTİ otogar or AŞTİ Bus station).
If you want to go to Bolu by yourself, we suggest you asking help from the Airport Information Desk for the Ankara Bus Station (AŞTİ) where you can find buses to Bolu. There are many private bus companies from Ankara to Bolu. Once you are at the airport in Ankara, buses called HAVAŞ will be available in front of the exit of the airport. HAVAŞ will take you to the AŞTİ in about 30 minutes or so. The cost of bus ticket is about 70-100TL.
If you take your airplane ticket to the Sabiha Gökçen International Airport in İstanbul, again, there will be a group of guides (students) from the organizing committee that they will help you to reach the bus stations from the airports. They will wait at the gate/exist of the airport to meet you from the early morning to the midnight (depending on your arrival time). Therefore, it is important for us to know your arrival time to the airports. We will ask your arrival time in advance to meet you at the airports. Details will be provided in our website in the second call.
There is a new airport in İstanbul called İstanbul International Airport (IIA). This is the 7th largest airports in the world. It is ranked first in the list of Europe's busiest airports with an average of 1500 flights per day. If you prefer to take this route, we should remind you that it may take about 7-8 hours to reach Bolu from the airport. Destination from IIA to Bolu is possible in a couple of ways (Metro, Shuttles etc.) but three (1-3) are illustrated below.

Another option can be renting a car/vehicle from İstanbul or Ankara. Renting car companies are also available inside the airports and in the Bolu center. If you choose this option in Bolu, again please let us know in advance. We can help.

Bolu is a very attractive touristic destination; therefore, we suggest you make your travel and hotel reservations as early as possible. Possible places for the accommodation are already listed in the first call (see website please). In the second call, there will be detailed information about the hotels and/or other possible places that you can stay. During your booking issues for the accommodation, please remind it that you are coming to Bolu for the SEFS14 event.
